Since COVID-19, we run a weekly case-based educational session on a Zoom platform which has gone from strength to strength. Every week, we discuss the major trauma cases that have presented to the Mater in the previous week.

 

Our meeting is now multidisciplinary, involving all the relevant specialists including Radiology, Critical Care, Trauma Orthopaedic and Spinal Cord Surgery. We theme our meetings to now focus on a particular type of injury or demographic. Depending on the theme, we can invite relevant input from specialities such as pre-hospital, neurosurgery, general and vascular surgery, interventional radiology and various external national (soon to be international) experts in the world of trauma and pre-hospital care.

 

Meetings take place each Wednesday morning after handover.
